VALIANT and DYNAMIC FORCES Partner for Collectibles

XOManowarLithoDynamic Forces is proud to announce a new licensing partnership with Valiant Entertainment, the leading independent publisher of such best-selling series as X-O Manowar, Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot and many more. The industry’s premiere collectibles company has been granted the rights to create resin statues, dioramas, bookends, full-size head reproductions, busts, lithographs, posters, and more, featuring the logos and artwork of Valiant’s fan favorite super-hero universe. The first Dynamic Forces product in partnership with Valiant will be the upcoming X-O Manowar lithograph, featuring the artwork of superstar artist Marko Djurdjevic.

“I worked extensively with Dynamic Forces during my time at Marvel and, true to form, they have a wide array of exciting plans in store for Valiant’s universe of characters,” said Russell A. Brown, Valiant’s President of Consumer Products, Promotions and Ad Sales. “We’re incredibly excited and enthused to have them on board on as one of Valiant’s licensing partners.”

“Dynamic Forces is one of the leading licensors in comics and with good reason. They’re passionate, knowledgeable and experienced, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership,” said Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani.

The Dynamic Forces/Valiant licensing partnership will launch this July with an all-new X-O Manowar lithograph, featuring the artwork of world-renowned illustrator and artist Marko Djurdjevic reproduced in a oversized 18″ by 24″ format. Reproducing the cover of X-O Manowar #12 – the one-year of anniversary issue of X-O Manowar’s return of the Valiant Universe – the lithograph features Valiant’s armored Visigoth hero locked in mortal combat with deadly alien adversary.

“As a lifelong fan of comic books, I can honestly say that Valiant’s return was something I had long been waiting for, and their astronomical success since the ‘Summer of Valiant’ campaign is so very well deserved. Their line is one of the most cohesive in comics, and most accessible. ” says Nick Barrucci, CEO of Dynamic Forces. “Words can’t express how excited I am to work with Dinesh and Valiant Entertainment to create a range of high-quality, high-end collectibles that their hardcore fans will cherish having.”

Valiant is a leading character-based entertainment company with a library of over 1,500 characters, including X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Shadowman, Eternal Warrior, and many more. VALIANT and QUARANTINE STUDIO Partner for Deluxe Statue Line

XO_012_COVER_DJURDJEVICValiant is proud to announce that it has partnered with Quarantine Studio for an exclusive array of high-quality limited edition statues, realizing the greatest heroes of the Valiant Universe in three dimensions for the first time anywhere!

The first Valiant/Quarantine release, scheduled for 2014, will be the X-O Manowar Deluxe Edition Statue, based upon the art of superstar artist Marko Djurdjevic. Sculpted in polyresin and standing 14 inches high on a 9 inch by 10 inch base, the first-ever sculptural representation of Valiant’s signature hero will recreate Djurdjevic’s iconic cover art to X-O Manowar #12 – a key centerpiece of the “Planet Death” storyline currently being published the X-O Manowar monthly series. The hero then begins a brand new adventure this July in X-O Manowar #15 – the first issue of an all-new story arc by New York Times best-selling author Robert Venditti and fan favorite artist Lee Garbett.

A fifth century Visigoth warrior abducted from his own time and stranded in the modern day, X-O Manowar is engaged in a never-ending crusade against the race of alien conquerors known only as the Vine. With agents implanted over a millennium in every rank and station of human society, the Vine believed their silent conquest of Earth was all but assured – until Aric of Dacia escaped back to Earth bearing the Vine’s own ultimate weapon. Now, trapped in a century far removed from his own, the hero called X-O Manowar will finally have his revenge on his alien oppressors. And the weapon he will use to do it will be their own.

“The most amazing thing about our working on this tremendous catalog of titles and characters is that the Valiant brand has, up until now, been untapped for the statue market,” said Quarantine Studio CEO Paul Conner and Creative Director William Paquet. “With every other major comic publisher having been licensed repeatedly over the past couple decades, Valiant has been lurking in the shadows, rebuilding its footprint to unleash itself back into the spotlight with supersonic concussion. To say we are thrilled to be a part of this renaissance is a gross understatement.

“We have long been fans of Valiant, but the rebirth of the company is mind-boggling,” they added. “Our most difficult task right now is deciding where to focus our creative efforts. The Valiant Universe is vast and inspiring.”

“Quarantine have a proven and well-earned reputation for producing some of the most high-quality sculptures in the industry,” said Russell A. Brown, Valiant’s President of Consumer Products, Promotions, and Ad Sales. “They’re an ideal partner for Valiant and this is the first of many of exciting partnerships we plan to reveal in the coming weeks and months.”

Founded in the fall of 2008, Quarantine Studio is one of the U.S.’s leading producers of pre-painted statues and faux bronzes, having previously produced works based on a wide array of properties including Robert E. Howard’s Conan, Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer, and Topps’ Mars Attacks!

Valiant is a leading character-based entertainment company with a library of over 1,500 characters. Since its summer 2012 relaunch, Valiant has returned to the fore as one of the most highly regarded publishers in comics, winning the 2012 Diamond Gem Award for Comic Book Publisher of the Year – Under 4%. Valiant’s current titles include X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, Archer & Armstrong, and Shadowman with a new, sixth title – Quantum and Woody – scheduled for a July 2013 debut.

Writer JOSHUA DYSART Joins VALIANT as Exclusive Creator

Valiant is proud to announce that New York Times best-selling writer and Eisner Award nominee Joshua Dysart has signed on as the publisher’s next exclusive creator. Dysart is currently scripting and co-plotting the Harbinger Wars crossover and mini-series for Valiant, in addition to his writing duties on the ongoing Harbinger series.

“Comics is a business, but it’s also a community and a family. From the moment I met the ragtag skeleton crew that work tirelessly to hoist the Valiant flag, I felt like I’d found my next comic book family,” said Dysart. “When I first met Dinesh, the CEO of Valiant, he was carrying a box of comics along with his marketing crew, like he was just another boy in the band. That’s what I like. I like it rugged and I like it scrappy.

“I believe Valiant can change things for the better in superhero comics. I believe small is good. I believe in every single member of this team, from management to marketing. And most of all, I believe in and trust my editor, Warren Simons. These guys took a huge chance on me. They saw ‘Unknown Soldier’ and they said, ‘That dude should write superhero comics.’ They gave me the freedom to create challenging characters and build new worlds.

“So that’s it, I’m in this. This is my next thing. I want to write Harbinger for a long time and I’m super excited to be developing my next big top secret project for the Valiant Universe. So if family, creativity, innovation and loyalty aren’t reasons to commit to a business venture like this, then I don’t know what

From 2008 to 2010, Dysart authored a two-year run on Vertigo’s Unknown Soldier with artist Alberto Ponticelli, garnering an Eisner Award nomination for Best New Series and widespread critical recognition in the process. Dysart has also contributed to some of the most acclaimed series and projects of the past decade, including B.P.R.D., Swamp Thing and Neil Young’s Greendale.

“Joshua has a singular voice in the world of comics, and he brings an extraordinarily poignant and rarified point of view to the page,” said Valiant Executive Editor Warren Simons. “His phenomenal work on Harbinger over the course of the past year and the tremendous reaction to last week’s release of Harbinger Wars #1 speak for themselves. Everyone at Valiant is look forward to more great stories from Joshua and we couldn’t be more excited about his plans for Harbinger coming out of Harbinger Wars.”

Dysart’s first Valiant work, Harbinger #1, was released in June 2012 as the second title of the Valiant relaunch. His work on the series has drawn near-universal accolades from fans and critics, cementing Harbinger as one of Valiant’s best-selling titles.

Dysart has also played a key creative role in co-architecting the Harbinger Wars crossover event, going so far as to co-create two dozen new super-powered heroes with Harbinger artist Khari Evans. This team of characters, collectively known as Generation Zero, can next be seen in the pages of Harbinger Wars #2 (of 4), in stores May 1st. They also feature prominently in the upcoming Harbinger Wars: Battle for Las Vegas 8-bit mobile game, the first level of which will be released for free on iOS and Android devices on May 2nd.

Dysart joins Eisner Award-winning artist Cary Nord (X-O Manowar, Conan) as the next addition to Valiant’s roster of exclusive talent.

On July 10th, a new era begins for the world’s worst superhero team in Quantum and Woody #1!

Valiant is proud to announce that award-winning writer James Asmus (Gambit, Thief of Thieves, Captain America & Bucky) and acclaimed artist Tom Fowler (Venom, Hulk: Season One) are bringing Valiant’s first full-on superhero team back to the Valiant Universe with an all-new ongoing series beginning on July 10th in Quantum and Woody #1!

Once upon a time, Eric and Woody Henderson were inseparable. Adopted brothers. Best friends. Brilliant minds. Years later, they are estranged siblings, petty rivals, and washed-up failures. But when their father’s murder leads them into the throes of a life-altering scientific accident, Eric and Woody will find themselves with a whole new purpose – and a perfectly legitimate reason to wear costumes and fight crime. Go big or go home, folks! Quantum and Woody are coming! And the action-packed, zeitgeist-shredding exploitation stunt comic you demanded is here at last.

(And, yes, there will be a goat too. Eventually.)

“Quantum and Woody are one of the most beloved superhero duos in comics. There’s a rich history to draw on here and we have some very exciting things on deck for Quantum and Woody in 2013 and beyond,” said Valiant Executive Editor Warren Simons.

“Since the day X-O Manowar #1 hit shelves, everywhere we’ve turned, fans have been demanding that Quantum and Woody step back into the spotlight,” said Quantum and Woody Editor Jody LeHeup. “James, Tom and Jordie are delivering a smart, heart-filled take on the team that will be central to the new Valiant Universe, and one that honors the spirit and bravado of what came before.”

QW_001_PULLBOX VARIANT_MARTINLaunched by Christopher Priest and M.D. Bright for Acclaim Entertainment’s rebooted Valiant Universe in 1997, Quantum and Woody became one of the most beloved independent superhero titles of the decade, spawning a rabid and loyal following that endures to this day. Most recently, Valiant Entertainment re-issued the entirety of the original series for the first time digitally via comiXology.

“In all of comics, there’s no other book that mixed style and substance quite like Quantum and Woody. I was willing to literally kill someone for the chance to write the relaunch for the new Valiant Universe. I might have. Those first days after I got the call are a blur. But Quantum and Woody isn’t (just) a superhero book – it’s action-comedy, it’s family drama, it’s a boys-meet-goat tale that tugs at the heartstrings,” said writer James Asmus.

On July 10th, the Valiant Universe’s most infamous duo enter the fray with writer James Asmus, artist Tom Fowler and colorist Jordie Bellaire in Quantum and Woody #1 – featuring a standard cover by Ryan Sook, a Pullbox Exclusive Variant by Marcos Martin for customers who pre-order with the their local retailer, an incentive variant by Andrew Robinson, and an interactive QR Voice Variant by Tom Fowler (with real talking goat action)!
